Vila či zámek – reprezentativní architektura cukrovarnických magnátů na Moravě
Villa or Chateau – Representative Architecture of Sugar Tycoons in Moravia
At the end of 19th and in the first half of 20th century sugar industry was one of the most rapidly developing industrial fields in the Central Europe concentrating substantial capital.
Businessmen working in this field belonged among the elite of the country and had contacts with the most prominent artists and architects of their time. The representative mansions
of sugar industry tycoons clearly prove the fact – lot of them were considered to be ground-breaking works of architecture in their times. For example the so called Loos’s Villa
in Hrušovany u Brna, which was built for Rudolf Bauer, was the first modern building of its kind in the Czech Lands. This paper gives an overview
of the most important pieces of this kind of architecture in Moravia.

Koncem 19. století a v první polovině 20. století bylo cukrovarnictví jedním z nejdynamičtějších průmyslových odvětví ve střední Evropě. Koncentrovalo v sobě obrovský finanční kapitál.
Průmyslníci podnikající v tomto odvětví patřili mezi elity země s úzkými kontakty na nejvýznačnější umělce a architekty své doby. Za nejvýraznější doklad lze považovat reprezentativní sídla
cukrovarnických magnátů. Řada z nich byla ve své době považována z hlediska architektury za přelomová. Například tzv. Loosova vila v Hrušovanech u Brna pro Rudolfa Bauera je první moderní
stavbou svého druhu v českých zemích. Článek přináší přehled těchto nejvýznamnějších architektur na Moravě.
